What is Supported Independent Living?

Supported independent living is a support that helps you to live within the community with a high level of support.

You can receive supported independent living funding when living by yourself, or with other NDIS participants.

Supported independent living options are best suited to those with higher support needs, who need support 24/7.

 

How we can support you

Our supported living solutions may be accessed when, where and how you choose.

 

Subject to your NDIS funding within your plan, we can offer assistance with personal care and daily tasks such as shopping and meal preparation, travel assistance and access to the community. 

 

We are dedicated to assisting each customer reach their full potential, working with you to develop a program of support services that allow you to live how, where and with whom you want.

What is Individualised Living Options?

Individualised living option packages enable participants greater levels of choice and control over their living arrangements, supporting participants to live with families, friends or by themselves.

Who is eligible?

A participant may be eligible for an individualised living option if they are:

  • Eighteen or over
  • Require support for at least six hours per day
  • Do not require 24/7 or regular overnight supports.

How we can support you

Our individualised living solutions may be accessed when, where and how you choose.

 

Subject to your NDIS funding within your plan, we can offer assistance with personal care and daily tasks such as shopping and meal preparation, travel assistance and access to the community.

 

We are dedicated to assisting each customer reach their full potential, working with you to develop a program of support services that allow you to live how, where and with whom you want.

 

Support can be accessed regularly or occasionally – depending on your needs. Our specialised team will work with you to find the right type of support and support person to assist you on your journey.

What is short term accommodation?

Short term accommodation, which also includes respite. Is funding that enables participants to receive support and accommodation away from their usual residence for up to fourteen days at a time.

Short term accommodation enables participants to try and experience new things, develop friendships, and build skills and provide respite to carers.

Short term accommodation includes

  • Accommodation
  • Food
  • Personal care
  • Activities that have been agreed upon by yourself and the provider

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for short term accommodation if:

  • Your family or informal supports need respite
  • It increases your independence and skills
  • It assists you to participate in the community and have access to greater activities
  • The need for short term accommodation is related to your disability

What is medium term accommodation?

Medium term accommodation is funding for participants who are unable to move into a long-term residence as their disability supports or modifications are not ready or complete.

Medium term accommodation may be funded for up to 90 days.

 

Who is eligible?

You may be eligible for medium term accommodation if:

  • You are unable to stay in your current accommodation
  • You are unable to move into your long-term residence as your disability supports are not ready
  • You have a long-term residence you will move into following your stay in medium term accommodation
